PLACEMENT SEARCHING REFLECTION
FROM THE START OF TERM I HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY LOOKInG FOR PLACEMENTS AND EXPLORING ROLES THAT I FEEL SUIT ME AND WILL EXPAND ON MY LEARNING.
The MAIN INTERESTS THAT I HAVE FOUND SO FAR HAVE BEEN STYLING, VISUAL MERCHANDISING AND MY NEWEST AREA OF INTEREST IS SUSTAINABILITY, AS I FEEL THAT IT IS AND WILL BE INCREASINGLY MORE IMPORTANT FOR EVERY SINGLE BRAND IN THE FUTURE.
I HAVE APPLIED FOR SUSTAINABLE FASHION INTERN AT ASOS, THIS IS BECAUSE I HAVE UNCOVERED MY INTEREST IN SUSTAINABLE FASHION AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE WHERE A FAST FASHION BRAND CAN GROW AND DEVELOP TO BE MORE SUSTAINABLE. I HAVE ALSO BEEN ACCEPTED ONTO THE NEXT STAGE OF THIS PROCESS AS I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A VIDEO INTERVIEW.
I HAVE ALSO APPLIED FOR PHOTO STUDIO PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP AT UO, THIS IS BECAUSE ONE OF MY MAIN INTERETsTS IS STYLING, AND ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT SPECIFICALLY THAT, IT ALLOWS ME TO EXPErIENCE THE STUDIO LIFE IN A FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT WHICH WILL BE CHANGING EVERY SINGLE DAY.
I HAVE BEEN CONTacted by uo about arranging an interview for January.
I AM NOW INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE STUDIO INTERN AT BOOHOO MAN, THIS INTERESTS ME BECAUSE, SIMILARILY TO THE UO POSITION IT WILL ALLOW ME TO GAIN VALUABLE EXPERIENcE IN THE SHOOTING ENVIRONMENT, WHILST ALSO DELVING INTO A NEW BRANCH OF FASHION: MENSWEAR WHICH IS SOMETHING I HAVE NOT WORKED WITH MUCH BEFORE.
I HAVE ALSO FOUND A STYLIST INTERNISHIP IN GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN, THIS RELATES EXCELLENTLY TO MY CURRENT ASPRIATIONAL ROLES AS I WOULD LIKE TO GET INTO STYLING, THE ONLY DOWNSIDE WITH THIS POSITION IS RELOCATING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY, WHICH I AM COMFORTABLE WITH, I AM HOWEVER CONCERNED ABOUT THE COST AND BEING ABLE TO SUPPORT MYSELF THROUGHOUT A WHOLE YEAR ABROAD.
i have looked at the free people placements also, as i have been a fan of the brands very clear identity, long before i feel they even had much of a presence in the uk market and were still primarily in the us, however, i feel that the more corporate roles, such as pr are less suited to my style of working.
