ASSESSMENT
CENTRE

pre assessment centre: whilst filling out the pre assessment centre survey i was nervous: this was because i had only attended interviews for retail jobs before, i also was instantly concerned about dress code, and not standing out for looking too dressy or too casual.

JOB APPLICATION: I WAS MORE COMFORTABLE WITH THE JOB APPLICATION AS IT RESEMBLED APPLICATIONS I HAVE SEEN BEFORE HOWEVER, I ENSURED THAT I STAYED WITHIN THE WORD COUNT AS I HAVE A TENDENCY TO RAMBLE.
ASSESSMENT CENTRE: UPON ARRIVING AT THE ASSESSMENT CENTRE I WAS VERY NERVOUS, MOSTLY ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEW ASPECT OF THE DAY, MOSTLY BECAUSE IT WAS THE ONE TASK THAT I DID NOT KNOW I WOULD HAVE ANSWERS FOR ALL OF THEIR QUESTIONS. FOR EXAMPLE, IN THE INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATION I KNEW THAT IF I FELT TOO NERVOUS I COULD SIMPLY READ FROM MY NOTE CARDS, AND IN THE GROUP INTERVIEW THERE WOULD BE OTHER PEOPLE TO SPARK IDEAS FROM HOWEVER IN THE INTERVIEW I WOULD BE ON MY OWN. oVERALL I GOT GOOD FEEDBACK HOWEVER AND FEEL THAT IN THE FUTURE I WOULD BE LESS NERVOUS ABOUT ATTENDING AN ASSESSMENT CENTRE.
FEEDBACK:

for the assessment centre i ensured that i had a good knowledge of both brands, and conducting research throughout. in hindsight i do feel that i should have looked at more of hearst brands rather than just elle as it would have helped in the group presentation
i also created development work for the 'opportunities' section of my presentation alongside the swot analysis i created and presented on boards. in which i discussed potential pop up opportunities that each of the brands could explore to increase their customer base and also their interaction and engagement with their readers.
